March 6, 2005 To All RADIO AMATEURS BID: $ANS-065.02 AMSAT continues to work with Space Command concerning our ability to forward Keplerian Elements via our email service as well as provide pass predictions on the web site. The following information is from Ray Hoad, who provides the service for us, detailing the situation. Air Force Space Command is currently considering how to administer the new web site as well as process requests for data redistribution. No time line for a decision has been determined as yet. For the time being, the best course of action is to maintain an on-going dialog with Space Command to help them understand our needs as well as how allowing redistribution can benefit them. This contact will be a telebridge between stations NA1SS and WH6PN in Honolulu, Hawai'i, so it should be audible to anyone in the areas of the Pacific near the islands listening in on the 145.80 MHz downlink. The participants will conduct the conversation in English. "Rains High School, a county school located in one of the smallest counties in Texas, is comprised of mostly low-income students who often do not get the opportunity to participate in enriching programs. The opportunity to talk with the astronauts on the International Space Station will expose our students to a world that exists beyond the boundaries of Rains County.
