[Info via Ken Ernandes] * LOGGING OUT OF MIR * ====================== More and more people are trying to use the MIR PMS these days, and that is fine if we all follow some simple rules. How many times have you seen a whole MIR pass full of <> messages (DM-Disconnect mode) and no data, and it appears that know one is logged in? Well, in reality, someone is logged in, but may have gone out of range of MIR and is unable to logout of the MIR PMS. This results in the PMS that is tied up until the PMS idle timer expires and forces a disconnect to the out-of-range station. After 8-10 minutes, MIR will try to force out the missing station with ten (10) <> (D-Disconnect request) packets. After the last <> packet, MIR will accept the next connect request heard. Rule: If you are connected to the MIR PMS, make sure you send the LOGOUT command (B) to MIR 2-minutes before LOS or when Mir gets below 10 degrees above the horizon. This will help prevent ruining a whole pass for the stations down range of your QTH. Remember, only 1 station can connect to MIR's PMS at a time, ALL others must wait. [Info via G.
