SB SAT @ AMSAT $ANS-318.01 AMSAT SCI-FI CHANNEL SEGMENT UPDATE (Special ANS Bulletin) HR AMSAT NEWS SERVICE BULLETIN 318.01 FROM AMSAT HQ SILVER SPRING, MD NOVEMBER 14, 1995 TO ALL RADIO AMATEURS BT BID: $ANS-318.01 AMSAT STILL SET FOR TV DEBUT NOVEMBER 17th AMSAT and Amateur Radio are still slated to be part of the cable television Sci-Fi Channel's "Inside Space" program set to air the weekend of November 17th. Plans call for airings on Friday evening, November 17th at 9 PM Eastern time in the USA and then again at 1 AM Eastern (four hours later) on Saturday morning. An additional airing of the program is also set for 11 AM (Eastern) on the following Sunday, November 19th. One minor change has occurred since the first announcement of AMSAT's inclusion in the program. Initial reports indicated the show was set to include multiple scenes from the AMSAT Phase 3-D satellite lab in Orlando, as well as perhaps ARRL Field Day and other Amateur Radio scenes, according to AMSAT-NA's Executive Vice President Keith Baker, KB1SF. "However, the latest word we have from the producers is that AMSAT's piece of the program will most likely now be split into two segments." Baker said. He indicated the first segment is still slated to air this weekend (November 17) and will probably include a broad overview of AMSAT's activities over the years, along with scenes and discussion of other Amateur Radio related activities. Keith went on to note that another segment of the program (featuring more of Phase 3-D) will most likely be aired closer to P3-D's launch date later next year.
