Third Call for Papers for the 18th AMSAT Annual Meeting and Space Symposium

The 18th AMSAT Annual Meeting and Space Symposium will be held on October 27-29th, 2000 (Friday-Sunday) at the Holiday Inn West, Portland Maine.

This is the Third call to authors who wish to submit papers for presentation and publication in the proceedings of the symposium. We spoke with the printers and found we can extend the deadlines a bit. Thanks to those who have honored the previously published deadlines, your timeliness is appreciated. The new deadline for the one page abstracts is July 15, 2000.

We have had numerous queries regarding topics to be presented at the Symposium. Please note the June 1, 2000 deadline for one page abstracts.

Topics covering the diverse aspects of amateur satellite disciplines are sought from throughout the AMSAT community. If you do not wish to present a paper, but have a topic of interest, please submit the topic and perhaps arrangements can be made for presentation and publication in the proceedings.

Key deadline dates for authors are:

July 15, 2000 One Page Abstract Due
Final due date for one-page abstracts. When submitting your abstract, please include any time preferences for presentation of your paper. Authors will be advised by e-mail or postal mail shortly after July 20, 2000 whether their paper has been accepted or not.
August 15, 2000 Camera Ready Copy Due
This is the final due date for authors to submit camera-ready copy of paper. (Authors are urged to submit their papers in advance of this deadline.) Upon receipt, papers will only be superficially edited and will generally be printed as submitted. Please refer to past proceedings for grammatical layout of papers. Authors are requested to provide an electronic copy preferably in any version of MS Word or WordPerfect in the event a disaster is spotted and can be corrected at the last minute.

In September, authors will be provided with a tentative symposium agenda that provides the time they will make their presentations. Each presentation will be limited to approximately 20 minutes.

Please send abstracts and papers to:
