Bdale Garbee, KB0G (ex N3EUA), has provided some information on the Rudak-U package of digital communications equipment destined to fly aboard Phase 3D, and on the GPS Receiver which will fly as an experimental payload. For background on other spacecraft that use GPS, see the Spaceborne GPS Information page.
For those of you interested in rocket science (literally), here is a JPEG picture of the Phase 3D propellant flow assembly (PFA). And here is another. Photos courtesy of Dick Daniels, W4PUJ.
These projects don't always go in a straight line from start to finish. The Phase 3D project started with a quite different spaceframe design, intended to fit a different launch configuration. Here's a picture of the old spaceframe design prototype below a model of the Phase 3B/3C (AO-10/13) spacecraft. You can see the large cone-shaped structure in the middle of the space frame, which was intended to support the main payload above Phase 3D.
Phase 3D will fly a camera experiment. Here is a status report on the JAMSAT SCOPE Project to construct the cameras.
