AO-40 Telemetry |
AMSAT-OSCAR 40 (AMSAT Phase 3D) transmits a number of telemetry channels, containing spacecraft status and health information.
Two different channels are used for this telemetry:
The 400 bps IHU telemetry is being transmitted now on the S2 Middle Beacon frequency, 2401.323 MHz (plus or minus Doppler shift). The traditional un-encoded format is always available. The experimental FEC format is also transmitted from time to time. RUDAK telemetry downlinks will be available after RUDAK is commissioned.
Telemetry from AO-40 is collected for archiving by Paul Willmott, VP9MU, of AMSAT-BDA (Bermuda).
If you have any telemetry from AO-40 captured using P3T or AO40RCV, please forward it to ao40-archive@amsat.org before you delete it. See also these notes on telemetry capture from VP9MU.
Email updates: if you want to receive the archived telemetry by email at the same time as the command stations, you can subscribe to the AO40TLM mailing list. Beware! You will receive many large zip files.
See also Experimental Downlink Coding (FEC).
Note that ALL of these DSP-based modem products are discontinued and no longer available new.
The programs above can create log files that are compatible with the AMSAT telemetry archives. The ones below lack this ability.
