Phase 3D Launch Status

The final preparation of AMSAT's Phase 3D satellite is proceeding on schedule according to AMSAT-DL Executive Vice President Peter Guelzow, DB2OS. Currently the emphasis is on RF testing of the various transmitter and receiver systems, with the team reporting success and no problems so far. The launch team had previously performed successful pressure tests on the propulsion systems.

Peter is leading the launch team, consisting of the following AMSAT-DL, AMSAT-OH and AMSAT-NA members:

AMSAT-NA Executive Vice President Robin Haighton, VE3FRH, reports the team now has electronic mail from the European Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana and this will allow some photographs of P3D's preparation for launch to be posted soon.
