This transponder was built by Dan Muallay an Engineer at Cynetics Inc. in Rapid City South Dakota. The transponder will be able to handle a single full duplex digital channel running AX.25 UoSat variant file handling software. The transponder will be able to operate at 9600 bps or 57,600 bps. Right now Dennis is investigating whether intermediate rates, (i.e 19,200, 38,400) will work as well. He says it depends on the "bitsyncs." He says that the biggest problem in implementing the intermediate baud rates is due to a problem with a switchable filter that they were going to select between 9.6 and 57.6 kbits and so the Bit Error Rate may be higher than normal at 9600. Dennis says that he looks forward to being at the at the AMSAT-NA Space Symposium October 6-8 and that he plans to bring the hardware for all to look at. [The AMSAT News Service (ANS) would like to thank Dennis Wingo (KD4ETA), SEDSAT-1 Project Manager, for this bulletin item.] /EX SB SAT @ AMSAT $ANS-259.03 WEEKLY OSCAR STATUS REPORTS HR AMSAT NEWS SERVICE BULLETIN 259.03 FROM AMSAT HQ SILVER SPRING, MD SEPTEMBER 16, 1995 TO ALL RADIO AMATEURS BT BID: $ANS-259.03 Weekly OSCAR Status Reports: 16-SEP-95 AO-13: Current Transponder Operating Schedule: QST *** AO-13 TRANSPONDER SCHEDULE *** 1995 Jul 31 - Oct 30 Mode-B : MA 0 to MA 140 | Mode-BS : MA 140 to MA 240 | Mode-B : MA 240 to MA 256 | Alon/Alat 228/-1 Omnis : MA 250 to MA 140 | Move to attitude 180/0, Oct 30 [G3RUH/DB2OS/VK5AGR] AO-10: WD5FFH reports that he has heard XR0Y on Easter Island on a frequency of 145.902 MHz SSB at 04:00 UTC on 13-Sep-95.
