ARRL's TECHNICAL MERIT AWARD GOES TO AMSAT VP FOR ENGINEERING

At its Board of Directors meeting recently hels in Connecticut, the ARRL
Board of Directors conferred on Dick Jansson WD4FAB, AMSAT Vice President
for Engineering for the Technical Merit Award for his many years of work on
amateur satellites  This is the first time this award has been conferred
since the 1970s.  AMSAT congratualtes Dick Jansson for this honor and
thanks the ARRL Board for this action.

MACHINIST NEED FOR PHASE 3D

MACHINIST HELP WANTED

The Phase 3-D International Satellite Development Team has an urgent need
for someone with the skills and access to equipment (Mill and Lathe) to
produce an additional six separation mounts to be used for Phase 3-D's
flight model and backup Specific Bearing Structures.  The mounts are roughly
block-shaped, 60x80x75mm and are made from 6061 aluminum.  These are used to
mate the Phase 3-D satellite to the P3D-SBS carrying structure.

AO-27: The amateur transmitter on AO-27 Schedule as of July 25, 1995 is as
follows: AO-27 Enters Sunlight, Transmitter is OFF
        18 Minutes after Entering Sunlight, Transmitter is ON at 600 mW
        20 Minutes Later, Transmitter Turns OFF
        AO-27 is OFF for the entire Eclipse.
