Similarly, commercial, governmental or trade organizations will have their names inscribed in the satellite for a donation of 2000 Pounds Sterling or more under the same program. Ron's idea has been enthusiastically endorsed by key members of the Phase 3-D International Project Team. Ron also reports he is now beginning to receive donations from participants wishing to take part in the program. Plans currently call for a small aluminum plate to be photo-etched with the names and calls of donors. The plate will then be placed into the space- craft prior to launch. Also, prior to launch, the plate will be photo- graphed, and a copy of the photo, together with a small engraved certificate or plaque, will be sent to the individual donor as a permanent momento of their support of the Phase 3-D satellite project. [The AMSAT News Service (ANS) would like to thank Ron Broadbent (G3AAJ). for the information that went into this ANS News Bulletin. [G3RUH/DB2OS/VK5AGR] AO-27: NM1K talked with N4USI, one of the ground station control operators for AO-27, and N4USI said that until further notice that AO-27 will be on a weekend schedule everyday because of no commerical experiments that are currently being performed. NM1K reports that he has worked stations in th mid-west and west cosat on A0-27 when the satellite was over the east coast. N4USI is hopful for a European and African QSO on AO-27 now that it is on everyday. The uplink freqency is 145.850 MHz and the down- link is 436.800 MHz and this mode is FM. For those who would like to make a schedule with NM1K for contacts on AO-27, FO-20, RS-10, or RS-15, send a message to NM1K@WA1TPP.MA informing him of desire for a sched. [NM1K] LO-19: KF0QS reports that he monitored the following message being broad- cast by LO-19: "June 20. Recovery from crash in progress. Don't transmit on uplink channels. As usual, any telemetry report is useful. LU8DYF" [KF0QS] MIR: While bad weather forced two postponements of launch of the Shuttle Atlantis, at 20:08 UTC on 24 June (about 1/2 hour prior to the Shuttle's scheduled launch) MIR was over the Caribbean with a very strong packet signal. Many U.S. and Caribbean area stations were seen attempting contact. A few "CQ Field Day" packets were digipeated! [N2CQR/HI8] AO-10: Field Day activity on OSCAR 10 was monitored in Santo Domingo. With the bird over Hawaii at a range of almost 24,000 miles from Santo Domingo, K7TR (Arizona) was heard making Field Day QSO's. AO-10's beacon was clearly audible and some CW signals were also heard. [N2CQR/HI8] AO-13: Lots of Field Day activity on AO-13 was also heard. Early on "the morning after" (09:23 26-Jun-95) KE4SHS was heard in QSO with W8VXH, it was KE4SHS's second day on the satellite. The satellite was over eastern Brazil. W8VXH reported superb satellite conditions with very strong, stable downlinks and no spin modulation. [N2CQR/HI8] The AMSAT NEWS Service (ANS) NEEDS YOUR HELP! The ANS looking for volun- teers to contribute weekly OSCAR status reports. If you have a favorite OSCAR which you work on a regular basis and would like to contribute to this weekly bulletin, please send your observations to WD0HHU at his CompuServe address of 70524,2272, on INTERNET at wd0hhu@amsat.org, or to his local packet BBS in the Denver, CO area, WD0HHU @ N0QCU. Also, if you find that the current set of orbital elements are not generating the correct AOS/LOS times at your QTH, PLEASE INCLUDE THAT INFORMATION AS WELL. The information you provide will be of value to all OSCAR enthusiasts. /EX
