SB SAT @ AMSAT $ANS-077.01 UNAMSAT-1 TEAM LEAVES FOR MOSCOW HR AMSAT NEWS SERVICE BULLETIN 077.01 FROM AMSAT HQ SILVER SPRING, MD MARCH 18, 1995 TO ALL RADIO AMATEURS BT BID: $ANS-077.01 UNAMSAT-1 Team Leaves For Moscow David Liberman (XE1TU) reports that he and the the UNAMSAT-1 team have left for Moscow on Monday, 13-MAR-95. The planned launch date for the UNAMSAT-1 MICROSAT is presently scheduled for 28-MAR-95 with the launch window opening beginning at 05:00 UTC and closing at 10:00 UTC. For all those who wish to monitor, the following frequencies have been given by XE1TU for the UNAMSAT-1 MICROSAT: DOWNLINK: TX1 * default * 437.135 MHz TX2 437.179 MHz UPLINK: Channel A 145.922 MHz Channel B 145.942 MHz (Channel D does not exist) Channel C 145.962 MHz Channel E/F 145.872 MHz All are invited to monitor and collect telemetry of UNAMSAT-1 after sep- aration from the launch vehicle. UNAMSAT-1 is programmed to start sending sending telemetry 20 minutes after launch. The Bulletin Board System (BBS) will be closed and all users are asked not to try to uplink to UNAMSAT-1 after launch. Only command stations will be allowed to use uplink to UNAMSAT-1 for the first couple of days from launch. XE1TU recommends that all use the preliminary element set provided by 4X1AS for UNAMSAT-1. The following information about the TECHSAT/UNAMSAT launch was provided by 4X1AS: TECHSAT1 will be launched on the 28th of March from Plesetsk Russia, about 700 km north of Moscow. The launcher is called START. The altitude will be approximately 670 KM and the orbit will be circular, however, not sun synchronous. Keplerian elements will be updated close to launch date. Satellites: TECHSAT-1 and UNAMSAT-1 Epoch time: 95087.37500000 (Separation) Inclination: 075.3991 deg RA of node: 328.7324 deg Eccentricity: 0.0015304 Arg of perigee: 101.9385 deg Mean anomaly: 355.9607 deg Mean motion: 14.7000703 rev/day NOTE: The UNAMSAT-1 frequencies given in last week's ANS bulletins, ANS-070.01, were in error. Those frequencies came given to WD0HHU in September of '93 and were preliminary. However, all the other information was correct. [G3RUH/DB2OS/VK5AGR] AO-10: DL1SDX reports that he has heard AO-10 come back alive after a long period of silence on 20-FEB-95 and 23-FEB-95. At that time he only got a a weak FMing signal when he tried to use the Mode-B transponder. However, VK2EYI used AO-10 and made a contact with KN6M and JE4XGW and, he noted, that signals were excellent! [DL1SDX & VK2EYI] AO-13: VK2EYI reports that AO-13 has been sending down excellent signals this past week in VK land. [VK2EYI] RS-15: VK2EYI reports that RS-15 has been sounding strong and he has heard station 4S7AVR using RS-15 several times. Also, G3IOR reports that he has heard alot of activity from RS-15 from stations in Eastern and Western Europe. [VK2EYI & G3IOR] FO-20: ON4ALY reports that he has used FO-20 this past week but the signals were quite weak. [ON4ALY] The AMSAT NEWS Service (ANS) NEEDS YOUR HELP!
