Satgen77 A Satellite Roundup by GM4IHJ 18th September 90 RADIOSPORT 10/11 continues to work well 145.86 to 145.9 up, 29.36 to 29.4 MHz down CW or SSB Good beacon 29.357 MHz.Orbits South to North past UK 1000 to 1600, then northwest to northeast 1600 to 1900, then north to south 1900 to 0200 approx at roughly 106 minute intervals. All times utc UOSAT 2 Continues to perform well as a 145.825 MHz FM downlink experimental facility. No transponder on this satellite. Orbits 0800 to 2400 ut are in range UK but orbits between 1400 and 1800 can be difficult to read in southern UK. OSCAR 10 Uplink 435.16 to 435.045, Downlink 145.845 to 145.96 MHz. Has not been getting much Sun on its solar panels lately and its duff computer means that it cannot be aligned to face the Sun. In consequence its bus volts are low and its tranmissions are presently unstable and distorted. Do not use unless transmissions stabilize. OSCAR 13 Continues operating mode B 435.575 to 435.425 Up, 145.823 to 145.973 MHz Down when not around Apogee high point. Around Apogee Mode L 1269.575 to 1269.325 Up, 435.781 to 436.031 MHz Down is on, with Mode S, Up 435.64 to 435.61, 2400.725 to 2400.695 MHz Down on briefly usually around Apogee itself. See Amsat bulletins for changes in this pattern. FUJI OSCAR 20 has temperature problems having recently heated up to above 40 degrees C. Both mode JA and mode JD are presently off as Jamsat try to resolve this problem before the over heating irrevocably damages its batteries. PACSAT Waiting for completion of software trials on Uosat3 LUSAT Waiting for completion of software trials on Uosat3 and Pacsat. Uosat3 Software trials are almost complete. Bulletins are being broadcast daily at 9600 bps FSK. Use disc capture to catch bulletins - your printer will soon get far behind the 9600 signal and you will lose data. Until full software is available use ordinary digital comms software such as Packcom or Procomm to receive these bulletins. At your TNC insert UOSAT3-1 in your LCALLS, and QST-1 in MYCALL. Put BUDLIST to ON. Disconnect your transmitter and or PTT. Bulletins are being sent interspersed with other tests. WEBER Good pictures of about 25% of its efforts come down as PSK RC packets on 437.1 MHz 1200 bps packet. Decode software is available to resolve pictures on NTSC standard US TV. DOVE continues to provide excellent digital telemetry with lots of scope for experiments. As yet no Digital Voice transmissions have been heard. Thanks to all who came for a chat at the Scottish Convention. Must now get busy and finish the Dove Manual. 73 de John GM4IHJ@GB7MAC
