This photo is from the first North Texas Balloon Project attempt, NTBP#1. The 35mm still camera was mounted to provide photos of the horizon. As you can see, it was pointing straight down at the ground when this picture was taken. The excessive rate of rotation is also very evident, although it is interesting to see that the axis of rotation passed through the film exposure area.
There were many aerodynamic lessons learned from NTBP#1.
