RE: NA1SS active on UHF - 437.55

The D-700 is capable of packet operations on one band and voice operations
on another but it is not configured to do that by default on the ISS. I'd
have to do some testing to see how Bill might have made that happened.

I have a D-700 in my car and run APRS on the left side and chat on the local
UHF repeater on the right side.

Short answer is "Yes it is possible".

Just heard (13.26UTC) Bill on 437.55 at the same time as I was copying
packet on 145.800. Anyone know why as didn't think they could do this?

Bill is off to an early start on his quest to work all continents using
UHF.
Reports from www.issfanclub.com indicate he has been active over Turkey
at
0842 UTC and Japan at 0900 UTC.

Check the recent ARRL story for more details about ISS operations this
weekend (http://www.arrl.org/news/stories/2006/01/13/5/?nc=1)

73 and Good Luck,
