Aboard the International Space Station this week, Expedition 11 has been
busily preparing for Saturday's arrival of the ISS Progress 19
spacecraft, which will be bringing more than 2 1/2 tons of food, fuel
and spare parts to the orbiting outpost.
To clear the way for this delivery, the ISS Progress 18 resupply craft,
which the crew had filled earlier with items to be discarded from the
Station, was undocked from the aft port of the Zvezda Service Module
Wednesday at 6:26 a.m. EDT. After separating from the Station, the
Progress spacecraft deorbited at 9:26 a.m. EDT and safely burned up in
the Earth's atmosphere over the Pacific Ocean around 10 a.m. EDT.
This morning at 9:08 a.m. EDT, ISS Progress 19 launched from the the
Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, Russia. The resupply craft will dock
with the Station on Saturday at 10:50 a.m. EDT. Live coverage of the
docking on NASA TV <http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/nasatv/index.html>
begins at 9:30 a.m. EDT.
