* Cargo Transfers Kick Off Crew's Week*
Expedition 10 Commander Leroy Chiao and Flight Engineer Salizhan
Sharipov returned to work Monday after enjoying a weekend of light duty
aboard the International Space Station. They resumed cargo transfers
from the ISS Progress 17 spacecraft that delivered 4,631 pounds (2,100
kilograms) of cargo to the Station last week.
The Progress carried food, supplies, fuel, oxygen, air and water to the
Station. Its cargo also includes cameras and lenses that will be used to
photograph the thermal protection tiles of Space Shuttle Discovery as
the Return to Flight mission approaches the Station in May or June.
Chiao and Sharipov are keeping track of the transferred items with the
Station Inventory Management System.
In other activities Monday, Chiao deployed devices to record noise
levels on the Station. These measurements are taken at least twice
during a crew's tour of duty on the Station. Also, both crewmembers
monitored ISS science experiments and systems and exercised.
