* Expedition 10 Preps for Spacewalk, Upgrades Software
<http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/spacenews/reports/issreports/2005/iss05-2.html>*
Aboard the International Space Station, the second week of January was
filled with software upgrades and preparations for an upcoming spacewalk.
The Expedition 10 crew upgraded Station software to improve operation of
ISS computers and commanding by ground controllers.
The crew began preparations for its first spacewalk. The 4.5-hour
excursion is slated to take place Jan. 26, beginning about 1:25 a.m. CST
(0725 GMT).
In other activities, the crew participated in biomedical investigations
and performed routine maintenance on Station systems.
The crew will enjoy some off-duty time, but Russian flight controllers
are planning to raise Station's orbit. They will fire the engines on the
docked ISS Progress 16 spacecraft during a 20-minute maneuver to raise
the Station's orbit by about 3 miles (5 kilometers).
