ISS link with John Baldwin School

The telebridge linkup between the ISS and the John Baldwin Elementary
School in Danville, CA. went without a hitch despite a low pass of only
17 deg. The linkup took place on Thurs Jan. 13 at 18:28 UTC and was
telebridged through VK5ZAI in Kingston SE , Sth Australia.
The contact was moderated by Will Marchant, KC6ROL
The students were well prepared with interesting questions and Commander
Leroy Chiao answered most before the ISS passed below the horizon.
Commander Chiao requested this contact with students at John Baldwin
School in Danville,California as it was his old school.

ARISS is an international educational outreach program with US
participation from NASA, AMSAT (The Amateur Satellite Radio Corp.), and
the American Radio Relay League. ARISS offers an opportunity for
students to experience the excitement of Amateur Radio by talking
directly with crewmembers on-board the International Space Station.
Teachers, parents and communities experience, first hand, how Amateur
Radio and crewmembers on ISS can energize youngsters' interest in
science, technology, and learning. Further information on the ARISS
programme is available on the website http://www.rac.ca/ariss.
Information about the next scheduled ARISS contact can be found at
http://www.rac.ca/ariss/upcoming.htm#Next Contact.
