* Space Station Crew Makes Progress on Cargo Transfers*
Expedition 10 Commander Leroy Chiao and Flight Engineer Salizhan
Sharipov continued to unload cargo Wednesday from the Progress 16
spacecraft to the International Space Station. The Progress and its more
than 2.5 tons (2,268 kilograms) of cargo -- including propellant,
oxygen, water, spare parts and experiment hardware -- arrived at the
Station on Christmas Day. Progress 16 also delivered holiday presents
and about a 112-day supply of food for the crew.
The crewmembers are using the Inventory Management System to keep track
of the items transferred to the Space Station. In other cargo ship
related activities, routine Progress thruster tests were conducted.
The crew performed maintenance on the Station exercise equipment. Chiao
also filled out the weekly food questionnaire that allows experts on the
ground to keep track of his nutritional intake on the Station.
* Expedition 10 Flight Engineer Salizhan Sharipov (left) and Commander
Leroy Chiao field questions from news media on the ground.*
