* Crew Continues ISS Familiarization, Replaces Sensors in Elektron*
Expedition 10 Commander Leroy Chiao and Flight Engineer Salizhan
Sharipov are in their second full week as the resident crew of the
International Space Station as they continue to familiarize themselves
with their new home. For the first two weeks of a tour of duty on the
ISS, each crewmember spends at least an hour a day getting to know the
ISS and its systems.
Inside the Russian segment on Wednesday, they performed routine
maintenance on the Elektron oxygen generation system. They replaced two
sensors in the Elektron.
The duo also worked with science experiments, monitored ISS systems and
performed their daily exercise regimen.
Tuesday marked the fourth anniversary

of the Expedition 1

arrival at the International Space Station. Since then, nine more crews
have maintained the permanent human habitation of the orbital outpost.
On the ground, Expedition 9 crewmembers Gennady Padalka and Mike Fincke
are in Star City, Russia, for several weeks of post-flight debriefings
and medical exams before returning to Houston on Nov. 13.
