* Expedition Crews Continue Joint Operations*
The Expedition 9 and 10 crews pressed ahead Tuesday with joint
operations aboard the International Space Station. Astronauts Leroy
Chiao and Mike Fincke continued to work on a U.S. spacesuit inside the
Quest Airlock. Meanwhile, Cosmonauts Gennady Padalka and Salizhan
Sharipov performed maintenance on the Russian Elektron oxygen generation
system.
On the science front, Russian Space Forces Test Cosmonaut Yuri Shargin
continued to conduct experiments. Shargin arrived at the ISS with
Expedition 10 -- Chiao and Sharipov -- and will return to Earth with
Expedition 9's Padalka and Fincke.
Also, Expeditions 9 and 10 continued to conduct handover activities.
Expedition 10 will officially take charge of the ISS on Saturday when
the hatch closes between the Station and the Soyuz carrying the
Expedition 9 crew to Earth. Undocking is set for 4:08 p.m. CDT (2108
GMT) Saturday and landing is scheduled for 7:36 p.m. CDT Saturday (0036
GMT Sunday) in Kazakhstan.
Wednesday, all five crewmembers will participate in a joint news
conference
