* Expedition 10 Heads to ISS *
The ISS Soyuz 9 spacecraft carrying the Expedition 10
<http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/station/crew/exp10/index.html> crew --
Commander Leroy Chiao and Flight Engineer Salizhan Sharipov -- continued
to close in on the International Space Station on Thursday. The
Expedition 10 crew, along with Russian Space Forces Test Cosmonaut Yuri
Shargin, are scheduled to arrive at 11:17 p.m. CDT Friday (0417 GMT)
when the Soyuz docks with the ISS. The Soyuz launched from Baikonur
Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at 10:06 p.m. GMT Wednesday (0306 GMT Thursday).
Meanwhile, the Station's current residents, Expedition 9

Gennady Padalka and NASA ISS Science Officer Mike Fincke, prepared
Thursday for the arrival of the Soyuz and their return to Earth. They
prepared for the docking by setting up video equipment.
After docking, the two Expedition crews will spend eight days performing
joint operations and conducting handover activities. Shargin will
conduct a number of experiments. Padalka, Fincke and Shargin will bid
farewell to Expedition 10 and return to Earth on Oct. 23.
