* Station Gets an Orbital Boost*
Russian flight controllers fired the ISS Progress 15 spacecraft’s
engines Thursday for a maneuver designed to raise the International
Space Station’s orbit. The 10-minute engine burn raised the Station by
2.98 miles (4.8 kilometers) and placed it in the proper orbit for the
arrival of the Expedition 10 crew aboard the ISS Soyuz 9 spacecraft next

Inside the Station, Expedition 9 Commander Gennady Padalka and NASA ISS
Science Officer Mike Fincke continued more troubleshooting on the
Russian Elektron oxygen generation system. The Elektron went offline
Wednesday. There has been no impact on ISS operations.

Padalka and Fincke also monitored science experiments and recharged a
satellite phone.

* Expedition 9 Commander Gennady Padalka, left, and NASA ISS Science
Officer Mike Fincke talked with students from Kenna Elementary School in
