* Expedition 9 Performs Science Experiments*
After a short break for Labor Day, Expedition 9 Commander Gennady
Padalka and NASA ISS Science Officer Mike Fincke are once again hard at
work on the International Space Station. This week they are working on
an array of scientific experiments and wrapping up their post-spacewalk
activities from last week.
Padalka set up and ran a preliminary test of the Advanced Diagnostic
Ultrasound in Microgravity experiment Tuesday in preparation for an
actual run scheduled for Thursday. Fincke worked with flight controllers
on the ground to set up the hardware for an experiment in EXPRESS Rack 5.
The crewmembers stowed the remaining items from their recent successful
spacewalk and discussed the event during a debriefing with spacewalk
specialists on the ground.
Other activities aboard the Station on Tuesday included routine exercise
and hardware maintenance.
