* Expedition 9 Continues Spacewalk Preps*
Expedition 9 Commander Gennady Padalka and NASA ISS Science Officer Mike
Fincke continued to get ready for next week's spacewalk at the
International Space Station. They conducted leak checks in the spacesuit
primary and backup oxygen tanks.
The spacewalk, which will be the crew's third, is scheduled for Aug. 3,
beginning at 2:10 a.m. CDT (0719 GMT). Objectives are deployment and
retrieval of experiments on the Russian segment of the Station and
outfitting of the Zvezda Service Module

with navigation aids for next year's maiden flight of the European
Automated Transfer Vehicle cargo ship. NASA TV
<http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/realdata/nasatv/>'s coverage of the
spacewalk will begin at 1 a.m. CDT (0600 GMT).
Also this week, the Progress 14 spacecraft is scheduled to leave the
ISS. Undocking is set for 1:06 a.m. CDT (0606 GMT) Friday. After
undocking from the aft end of Zvezda, Progress 14 and its load of trash
will be commanded to burn up in Earth's atmosphere. Its departure sets
the stage for the arrival of Progress 15 on Aug. 14. Progress 15 will
launch from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.
