*Station Crew Enjoys Light Duty
*The Expedition 9 crew completed a three-day weekend Monday. Commander
Gennady Padalka and NASA ISS Science Officer Mike Fincke received the
extra day of light duty in observance of Russia's Independence Day.
Their tasks included monitoring ISS science experiments and systems.
They also performed their daily exercise regimen.
Planning continues for the upcoming spacewalk. Thursday, ISS Program
managers discussed a new planning date for the extravehicular activity
(EVA). A new date will give flight controllers more time to plan and
allow the crewmembers to conduct the EVA during a better part of their
workday. Final approval of a new planning date is expected this week.
The objective of the spacewalk is to replace the failed Remote Power
Controller Module (RPCM) on the S0 Truss
</station/assembly/elements/its/index.html#starboard>. The RPCM is
responsible for the temporary loss of Control Moment Gyro No. 2 in
April. The gyro is one of four that control the ISS' orientation. The
spacewalk will be based out of Pirs Docking Compartment
