*ISS Crew Participates in Spacesuit Practice Session
*The Expedition 9 crew prepared Wednesday for its first spacewalk at the
International Space Station with a practice session inside the Quest
Airlock. Commander Gennady Padalka and NASA ISS Science Officer Mike
Fincke got into their spacesuits, the U.S. Extravehicular Mobility
Units, during the dry run. One of the goals of the session was to give
them practice getting into their suits without another crewmember
present to assist.
The exercise was cut short due to a cooling problem in Padalka's suit.
On the ground, U.S. flight controllers are assessing the situation.
The spacewalk is tentatively slated for June 10. The primary task is the
replacement of the failed Remote Power Controller Module on the S0 Truss
that caused the spindown of Control Moment Gyroscope No. 2.
