Expedition Seven Gets Familiar with ISS
Expedition Seven Commander Yuri Malenchenko and NASA ISS Science Officer
Ed Lu spent time Tuesday familiarizing themselves with their new home,
the International Space Station. This set of daily activities is
required during the first two weeks of a crew's stay at the orbital
outpost.
Malenchenko worked with two Russian experiments, and Lu installed new
software into the station's medical equipment computer. They also
performed daily maintenance.
Expedition Seven's predecessors -- Expedition Six Commander Ken
Bowersox, Flight Engineer Nikolai Budarin and NASA ISS Science Officer
Don Pettit -- continued rehabilitation activities at the Gagarin
Cosmonaut Training Center in Star City, Russia. The rehabilitation
activities will help the crewmembers get adjusted to living on Earth
after spending 5½ months at the station. Expedition Six left the station
and returned to Earth on Saturday.
