STS-111 LANDING ABORTED AGAIN

The information contained in this report is a compilation of the last 24
hours of new updates. Older items are removed daily during the mission.

6/18/2002 9:39:5 Endeavour was waved off for the second of two landing
opportunities Tuesday at Kennedy Space Center because of showers,
thunderstorms and clouds. There are two landing opportunities at KSC on
Wednesday, the first at 9:53 a.m. CDT. Edwards Air Force Base in
California offers three additional opportunities. Forecasters see
improving weather at both sites.
 
6/18/2002 9:5:10 Flight controllers at Houston's Mission Control Center
waved off Endeavour for the first of two opportunities to land at Kennedy
Space Center. They continue to monitor weather for the second
opportunity, which would see Endeavour land at KSC at 12:31 p.m. CDT.
 
6/18/2002 7:12:42 Houston's Mission Control Center gave Endeavour
Commander Ken Cockrell a go to close the spacecraft's payload bay doors 7
a.m. CDT. That was done in preparation for a 10:55 a.m. CDT landing at
Kennedy Space Center. But showers were increasing over Florida, and
forecasters were continuing to monitor KSC weather closely.
