First Aussie ARISS contact a great success

March 21, 2002
The students and staff of the Zeehan Primary School, where
overwhelmed with excitement last night after their contact
with the ISS. Carl Walz answered all their thirteen
questions, and the students had just enough time to applaud
him before LOS. Over 130 people were in attendance. The
event was covered by ABC TV, WIN TV, SOUTHERN CROSS TV,
Western Herald Newspaper, Advocate Newspaper, Examiner
Newspaper & Mercury Newspaper.
Zeehan was the first Australian school on the ARISS program,
the contact was handled direct from the school by Bill,
VK7KHZ and Dick VK7KVB. Despite gail force winds and heavy
rain, everything went smoothly. They are to be congratulated
on a job well done.

      Regards Tony.
