EXPEDITION FOUR SPACEWALK LIVE COVERAGE ON NASA TV JAN. 14
The first spacewalk planned for the Expedition Four crew
aboard the International Space Station will be covered on NASA
Television, with commentary beginning at 3:30 p.m. EST
Monday, Jan. 14.
Russian Commander Yury Onufrienko and American Flight Engineer Carl Walz
will exit the Pirs Docking Compartment at
approximately 3:50 p.m. EST for a scheduled six-hour spacewalk, or
Extravehicular Activity (EVA). The two will move a Russian cargo crane
to the Zarya module of the complex for future assembly work. American
Flight Engineer Dan Bursch will operate the Canadarm2 robotic arm from
inside the space station and act as spacewalk choreographer.
Up to three more spacewalks are planned during the five-month Expedition
Four mission. The next is scheduled for Jan. 25 by
Onufrienko and Bursch to continue the external outfitting of the Zvezda
Service Module.
NASA TV is available on GE-2, Transponder 9C at 85 degrees
West longitude, vertical polarization, with a frequency of
3880 MHz, and audio of 6.8 MHz.
