Hi All,
Alan Boyle of MSNBC who covered several stories on the MIR Space
Station
has presented another outstanding story. This story covers Commander
Frank
Culbertson, KD5OPQ's contact aboard the Internationa Space station (ISS)
with the Armand Bayou Elementry school in
Houston.
This presentation contains perfect audio of the children asking and
receiving answers from Frank. He also talked with his son and daughter
who
attend this school.
The MSNBC story shows a picture of Frank at the ARISS setup for the
Amateur Radio Station. In the future it is planned that this type of
picture within the ISS or pictures outside the ISS can be sent to all
Amateur
Radio Stations on Earth to see via Amateur Radio SSTV. This SSTV System
is
called SpaceCam1 and is currently in test with excellent results via AMSAT
AO-40. For those listening to AO-40, SSTV picture exchanges can be seen
from time to time
around the frequency of 2401.350 MHz. Excellent pictures have been sent
and
received from Europe, Japan and Australia as well as within the USA.
The MSNBC Story can be seen at:
