Fw: FX0STB / R0MIR QSL Card

Subject: FX0STB / R0MIR QSL Card>
Many of you probably have received or are receiving, as I just have,
Jean-Pierre Haignere's very attractive Mir QSL card. For those who might
be
interested, the patch of "Mission Perseus" which is reddish with yellow
background is shown on the right side of the card.. This patch was
prominent
on JP's uniform and 1st noted
in Amateur Radio SSTV pictures starting July 3, 1999. Other pictures
appear
in QST, Nov 99 pg 78 and CQ Nov 99 pg 44. JP was asked about this emblem
while aboard Mir and replied, "It is something which has been designed
especially for the French Mission Test Series by a French young artist and
it figures out, has a style, not really account for it, inside one eye is
the moon, on the other is the sun and there are some stars as well, so it
symbolizes the Look of the Man on the Earth".
It is understood that "Mission Perseus" was initiated to conduct a
 medical survey of Astronauts
during space flight. JP spent 188 days aboard Mir. More info may be found
