Mir Status

In a previous message today, Frank Bauer, KA3HDO has provided a good
summary of the current state of Mir as reported in various News media.
For those that would like to see a picture of the three aboard the Mir
Space Station, MSNBC is running a story showing a picture transmitted via
Amateur Radio SSTV of French Astronaut Jean-Pierre Haignere, together with
Cosmonauts Viktor Afanasyev, Commander and Sergei Avdeyev, Flight
Engineer. This picture and story may be found at:

		http://www.msnbc.com/news/144861.asp

There are 2 other related stories still running on MSNBC with SSTV
pictures at:

	and	http://www.msnbc.com/news/227580.asp

Jean-Pierre was heard to remark this morning as he passed over the USA at
approximately 12:22 UTC --- that everything is not so bad now that the
modem (Amateur Radio modem) is working again ---- concerning the pressure,
well we investigated but nothing really extremely serious.
