Following tones recorded on 145.815 overnight. I assume this is doppler'd
slightly high.
All frequencies in Hz.The tone frequency is indicative of the satellite
temperature ( see the web site for details).
I didn't stay awake all night so set the system to record when the squelch
opened. For arguement's sake here are the Mir predicted pass times.
MIR pass times were:
11/12 November 1st pass 1259.6Hz 00:20 - 00:29
1250.9
2nd pass 1248.3
01:54-0204
1239.4
3rd pass 1242.3
03:30-03:40 max el 77.6 degrees
1233
1223.7
4th pass 1228.8
05:05-05:15
1219.7
1210
5th pass 1208.3
06:40-06:49
1199.9
1194.5
12/13 November - very difficult to copy, I wonder if the sputnik is
occluded by mir on approach?
At first I thought there was nothing recorded at all.
only observation 1200.7Hz don't have the obs time but
mir's maximum elevation was abt
02:30utc 75.3 degs
Mir times utc
13/14 November 1st pass 1263Hz 23:41-23:49
2nd pass 1240Hz 01:15-01:25
3rd pass 1231.5 02:50-03:00 max el 77.5
deg
4th pass can't analyse
04:25-04:35
5th pass 1211.2
06:01-06:09
1196.7
These observations are taken from.WAV files recorded automatically with
Recall by Sagebrush (the recording starts when the squelch opens) and then
analyised with Syntrillium's Cool Edit - the "most prominent frequency" is
displayed following a FFT..
Particularly on the first night the frequencies doppler down in each pass,
however, the mean figure - or the lowest one - indicates a steadily colder
temperature as the orbit progresses into the early hours of the morning.
Rx is a kenwood HT,FM, and a 5 ele yagi fixed in elevation to about 20deg.
The clever stuff is in the satellite : félicitations à l'équipe -
congratulations to the team!
