Dear friends,

Spacedev announced that founder Jim Benson died
yesterday. He was 63. Some of you may remember him
from the 1999 AMSAT Space Symposium where he was
the guest speaker at the banquet.

Spacedev provided several components of the rocket
motor used on SpaceShipOne to win the Ansari X Prize
on October 4, 2004 (the 47th anniversary of Sputnik 1.)
