Re: N-type connectors for LMR-400 Ultraflex

Dave,

I use the RFN-1002-1SI male-N connector with both LMR-400 and
LMR-400UF. I have over 20 of them in use in my 2m-eme antenna array.
They also fit Belden-9913 cable (but I do not recommend using
9913). No need for any center conductor trimming.

Ordinary N-Male connectors are sized for RG-8/RG-213 coax which has a
smaller diameter center conductor. Using them will introduce a small
impedance "bump" since one must trim LMR cables to fit them.

In 10+ quantities the RFParts connector costs $5.50/ea. Not that bad
an increase over the standard N-Male (In fact about the same cost as
Amphenol N-Male's).
