Does he think you're talking about the Shuttle, perhaps and not ISS?
Even Shuttle when on-orbit, is a satellite, however.
It orbits the Earth, it's a satellite. Basic physics. Walks like a
duck, quacks like a duck... you're not insane, but he might be.
