AO-7 POWER-mongers.

Hi All,

Snipped from Dave's WB6LLO post re: power-mongers on AO-7.

>BUT.....some dork running tons of power managed to overpower us at every
>attempt...deliberately??? or otherwise...
>First time I've had that happen in over 27 years of satellite
>operation...where do these guys come from??

We really do need to nip these guys in the .... err ... (bud) ... and teach
them it's *NOT* like AO-51 where the "mine's bigger than yours" mentality
prevails ... (he means FM "capture effect, folks).

There are recommended operating proceedure notes on the AO-7 Resource Page,
lets encourage the potential newcomers to linear transponders to *READ*
them.

25 watts *EIRP* is more than enough to work AO-7 ... PROVIDED ONE USES AN
AERIAL and has a pair of those wierd things attached to the side of your
head ... (ears) !!!.

To the "unsure" ... pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeese read this ...
