Paul,
At the last TAPR/DCC conference, the Kenwood rep was there with a prototype
"TM-0000" on display. He was rather vague about what, and when, or for that
matter if, but was asking a lot of questions about what was wanted in a new
radio, with emphasis on APRS operations. However, the D-700a is still very
much available.
