For 5.7 GHz, take a look at the Hittite HMC408 ( http://www.hittite.com/product_info/product_specs/amplifiers/hmc408lp3.pdf <http://www.hyperlinktech.com/web/amplifiers_5800.html>). We managed to get ~1.5 watts out when driven by a DB6NT transverter. The HMC409 looks like it is a similar part for 3.4 GHz.
BTW -- The PyroJoe 40 watt 3.4 GHz Toshiba amplifiers (brand new, ~$150, see http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQfgtpZ1QQfrppZ25QQsassZpyrojosephQQssPageNameZADMEQ3aBQ3aFSELQ3aUSQ3a2) drive to full power with drive level < +10 dBm.
