I tried many flavors of RG-8 coax.
I had the most problem with 9913 (the hollow version).
I finally gave up and switch to LMR-600UF (aprox
3/4")for all of
my VHF+ needs.
I orded custom cables with connectors pre installed.
It did cost $$, but was worth it.
The 600UF flavor even goes around my rotors.
