Hi Stephen,
Congratulations !
Indeed AO51 is the best sat to start with, and a lot of fun !
> how should I compensate for doppler shift?
For the downlink I have 5 memory channels programmed:
435.310, 435.305, 435.300, 435.295, 435,290 (called
AO51rxA...AO51rxE).
There is no need to compensate on the uplink (145.920),
AO51's receiver is 'wide' enough. Easy for us !
Works great for me when I operate portable with my
TH-D7 and/or FT-817 and home made arrow-like antennas.

ps: if you like I can email my THD7 mem. programming file
which includes all channels for ISS, SO51 and PCSAT2.
