have you any Software for MP3s?
I remember a similar problem a few years ago on my desktop P-II PC with
WinAmp Software.
If the WinAmp was aligned to play audio CDs & MP3, I had distorted sound.
With Win-player for CDs and WinAmp for MP3s, no problem (under Win98).
