After the plastic pipe has passed the microwave oven test, I'd try the
GPS test next. Hack up a piece so that it can cover the antenna on a
handheld GPS RX, and see if the S/N drops much.
A GPS receiver like a Garmin 5 works well. The antenna connects via a
BNC connector and the antenna can can be removed and placed inside a
piece of the pipe. Look at the S/N on the bar display and see if the PVC
pipe makes a noticeable effect. The GPS frequency is 1575 MHz -- close
enough to make the test be relevant.
