Actually, this was why I wanted to ask. The reference to the PL is in
the chart
and the listing of modes below the April schedule, but the schedule below the
chart was silent on the matter. For anything with an FM uplink, the
list of modes
clearly indicates where the 67.0 Hz PL is required or not. I was
looking for the
same thing with the schedule. I asked the question, and someone who would
know (KE4AZN - thanks Mike!) posted a quick reply to my question. Mike said
"no" for the PL this time, and I'll be ready for it.
I make no guarantees that a 15-year-old HT with 10 kHz tuning steps
(IC-12GAT) will
do much for the L-band uplink, but I will give it a try. I'm on the
satellites more often
during weekday mornings while standing outside my office (DM33xl), and sometimes
I'm on from home (DM43ao) on weeknights and weekends. It could be the
first time
since 1992 or 1993 I have made QSOs using 1.2 GHz one way or another, and it
could be fun (or funny) through a satellite. Maybe on the 15th I can
get up to a nearby
park and stand in both of those grids and work that mode on AO-51. We'll see...
Good night, and 73!
