Bob,
It is an effective test at 2.4 GHz the frequency of the microwave ovens.
Suggest you put in a cup of water to load the oven and palce the material
beside side it 2 " away. This will protect the Magnetron Tube from working
unloaded. Materials like teflon are good and ABS which has some carbon in it
is bad. Everything else is in between.
