I offer just one caveat to mast mounted preamps..
If you are in an area of high RF levels then you may need to have a high Q
filter up the mast ahead of the preamp to avoid crossmodulation and other
nasty effects which can outweigh the great benefits of the LNA.
One further thought - try to keep the water out of the amplifier and then
provide a small hole to let the water that has got in escape. Then make sure
you have a nice voltage regulator in the LNA box which gets warm when it is
working. Then keep the power on it 24/7 to stop condensation occurring. Then
sit back and enjoy the benefits.....
