[amsat-bb] How much power?

All,

 

I just attempted my first contact on Echo this evening.  I was using an
Arrow, tripod mounted with about 2.5 watts on the uplink. (wrong battery in
the W32 <smile>)

 

Receive signals were full quieting.

 

Do I need to use the full 5 watts to access or was I just holding
experiencing jitters and probably on the wrong tone?
