RE: KENWOOD TS-2000X AND DIGITAL BIRDS

The TS2000X is a great radio for the digital birds. I use it successfully
with a TNC-7 multi (which can be ordered with a 38k board) or my Kantronics
9612 plus (hooked up to an FT-847 right now). The Ts2000 works right out of
the box, just go into the menu and select 1200 or 9600 baud for the external
TNC.

For 38k operation, I hate to solder in a $2000+ radio and just got a used
Icom PCr1000 on Ebay. No need to buy a Symek board, no need for soldering.
It keeps your radio pristine and maintains the resale value. With the
inexpensive TNC-7 (+38k), it works!

HI TO THE LIST. DOES ANYONE USE THE TS-2000X FOR THE 9600 BIRDS AND OR THE
38K DIGITAL BIRD AND IF SO WHAT TYPE OF TNC. ARE YOU USING? ALSO DID YOU
HAVE
TO DO ANY MODIFICATION ON THE TS-2000X? OR IS ANY ONE USING THE PACCOMM
SPIRIT-2? I HAVE JUST PURCHASED THE SPIRIT-2 AND HOPE IT WILL WORK WITH THE
TS-2000X RADIO FOR BOTH DIGITAL SPEEDS. TNX. TO ALL. LATER BILL. (WD4DHJ)
